Privacy Policy
Effective Date: December 18, 2025
PhotoPod ("we", "our", or "us") values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information when using the PhotoPod mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect information such as your name, email address, and username. If you sign up using a third-party provider (such as Google or Apple), we receive basic profile information from that provider. We do not store or have access to your password.
- Photos & Content: Photos, captions, comments, and other content you submit while using PhotoPod. Uploaded images may be processed by automated moderation systems, as described below.
- Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the app, such as pods you join, votes, submissions, wins, and other in-app activity.
- Device & Technical Information: Technical information such as device type, operating system, and app version. Network-related information (such as IP address) may be processed by our service providers as part of providing the service.
- Optional Information: Information you voluntarily provide, such as feedback, support requests, or messages sent through contact forms.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To operate, maintain, and provide PhotoPod’s features and services.
- To improve app functionality and user experience.
- To communicate with you about important updates or service-related information.
- To analyze usage patterns and monitor app performance.
- To enforce our Terms of Service and prevent abuse or misuse.
- To perform automated image moderation using third-party services.
3. Automated Image Moderation
To help maintain a safe and enjoyable environment, PhotoPod uses automated third-party technology to analyze photos uploaded to the app. This analysis helps identify prohibited content, such as nudity, sexual content, or violent imagery.
We currently use Google Cloud Vision API to perform this automated analysis. Images may be temporarily transmitted to Google Cloud solely for moderation purposes. Google processes this data in accordance with its own privacy and data retention policies.
PhotoPod does not use image analysis for advertising, profiling, or content ranking, and uses it only for safety and moderation purposes.
4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in limited circumstances:
- With service providers who help operate the app (such as authentication, database hosting, cloud storage, analytics, and moderation services).
- With image moderation providers such as Google Cloud Vision, solely for analyzing uploaded photos for safety and policy compliance.
- When required by law, regulation, or legal process.
- To protect the safety, rights, or property of PhotoPod, our users, or others.
5. Security of Your Information
PhotoPod relies on trusted third-party service providers, including Firebase (a Google service), to handle authentication, data storage, and infrastructure security. These providers use industry-standard security measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Choices and Account Deletion
- You may update certain account information through the app.
- You may delete your account through the app. When an account is deleted, your profile information is removed. Content you previously shared in Pods may remain visible to other users but will be anonymized.
- You may opt out of promotional communications by following unsubscribe instructions.
7. Third-Party Services
PhotoPod uses third-party services to provide core functionality, including Firebase (Google LLC) for authentication, database storage, cloud functions, hosting, analytics, and automated moderation. These services process data according to their own privacy policies and contractual obligations.
8. Children’s Privacy
PhotoPod is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe that a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
